MISSION

Now in its 23rd year, the Friends of LS Baseball organization (FOLSB) remains committed to its mission of raising money for the baseball program, providing administrative and operational support, and planning and coordinating activities related to the baseball program. In addition to providing direct funds, FOLSB works to solicit additional support and funding from other sources, including the LS All-Sports Boosters, LS Administration and Athletic Departments, and LS Building and Grounds.

FOLSB has funded major projects in recent years including:

Infield improvements to both the Varsity and JV fields, including laser leveling, new infield mix/clay, and turf improvement with leveling, topdressing, and overseeding - 2023
fencing in foul territory extending from the end of the dugouts to the edge of the infield to protect spectators - 2023
Semi-permanent outfield fence with annual installation and removal – 2022
Rebuilt pitcher’s mound and rubber - 2022
Portable sound system – 2022
Live streaming via GameChanger - 2022
Bleachers – 2021
Permanent Dugouts on the LS Varsity field - 2020

These projects have greatly enhanced both the player and fan experience, and we have plans to keep going. This year we will be completing the following projects:

purchase and install an equipment shed/press box behind home plate
a new weighted mound tarp

Other, longer-term projects/goals include:

rebuild bullpen mounds
a scoreboard
